Range Non-overlapping Indexing

چکیده
We study the non-overlapping indexing problem: Given a text T , preprocess it in order to answer queries of the form: given a pattern P , report the maximal set of non-overlapping occurrences of P in T . A generalization of this problem is the range non-overlapping indexing where in addition we are given two indexes i, j to report the maximal set of non-overlapping occurrences between these two indexes. We suggest new solutions for these problems. For the non-overlapping problem our solution uses O(n) space with query time of O(m+occNO). For the range non-overlapping problem we propose a solution with O(n log n) space for some 0 < ǫ < 1 and O(m+ log log n+ occij,NO) query time.

Range Non-overlapping Indexing and Successive List Indexing
We present two natural variants of the indexing problem: In the range non-overlapping indexing problem, we preprocess a given text to answer queries in which we are given a pattern, and wish to find a maximal-length sequence of occurrences of the pattern in the text, such that the occurrences do not overlap with one another. While efficiently solving this problem, our algorithm even enables us ...

It is conventional to use multi-dimensional indexing structures to accelerate search operations in content-based image retrieval systems. Many efforts have been done in order to develop multi-dimensional indexing structures so far. In most practical applications of image retrieval, high-dimensional feature vectors are required, but current multi-dimensional indexing structures lose their effici...
متن کاملIndexing Non-Uniform Spatial Data
Non-uniformity in data extents is a general characteristic of spatial data. Indexing such non-uniform data using conventional spatial index structures such as R -trees is inefficient for two reasons: (1) The non-uniformity increases the likelihood of overlapping index entries, and, (2) clustering of non-uniform data is likely to index more dead space than clustering of uniform data. To reduce t...
متن کاملNon-hierarchical Structures: How to Model and Index Overlaps?
Overlap is a common phenomenon seen when structural components of a digital object are neither disjoint nor nested inside each other. Overlapping components resist reduction to a structural hierarchy, and tree-based indexing and query processing techniques cannot be used for them. Our solution to this data modeling problem is TGSA (Tree-like Graph for Structural Annotations), a novel extension ...
متن کاملOverlapping Community Detection in Social Networks Based on Stochastic Simulation
Community detection is a task of fundamental importance in social network analysis. Community structures enable us to discover the hidden interactions among the network entities and summarize the network information that can be applied in many applied domains such as bioinformatics, finance, e-commerce and forensic science. There exist a variety of methods for community detection based on diffe...
